Column 1

Hi there. My name is Ruth-Ellen and I am a self-certified growth engineer

So what is a growth engineer? This basically means I am always tinkering away at aspects of my own life so I can serve myself and others around me better. Mostly, it’s a record of my own becoming as a person — intellectually, creatively, spiritually and physically — and an inquiry into how to live and what it means to lead my best life yet.  I love finding out ways to help people who aspire to achieve their ideal lifestyles! I truly believe that personal development doesn’t have to be boring and for people to progress there have to know there is a difference between aspiration and participation.

You may have noticed when I introduced myself that I’m not a doctor. There are no letters after my name (apart from my own professional development credentials).  I’m a mum that’s passionate about making sure I excel, my son & daughter excels and everyone I touch I leave better off than when I first met them.  So what makes me qualified to write this, below are a few things...

I am dyspraxic.  I was identified with dyspraxia and dyslexia at the age of 31 and since that time I have been searching for answers on how to improve my life and all those I come into contact with. I have spent 3 years running a group for dyslexics, coached hundreds of people with diverse learning needs on success strategies and have been funded to deliver my work to help more people.

...Also I am a mum of two teenagers.  My son is on the autism spectrum and my daughter has challenges with social anxiety.

As someone that got identified as a diverse learner in my 30's I guess this blog is the friend I wish I had to encourage me when I go through some dark times.

I am a web and app developer. My first app was dyspraxic success which is available on the google play store here is the link to dyspraxic success. I also teach autistic young people how to create their own sites and avoid cyber bullying.

I have a sales background. I used to work for large corporations and have over 15 years of sales and marketing knowledge. I accumulated over £120m in sales, I believe this was down to being charming and being resilient both dyspraxic traits.

I founded Celebrated Hub the learning disability training company and XavieTime a digital agency inspired by my awesome son whom has Autism, as a pathway to equip him as a diverse learner and give him as much choices as possible. I have a daughter too, she is equally awesome. I also volunteer with Crisis, Toastmasters and local community groups.
